High Point Furniture Industries was founded in 1958 and remains a privately held, woman-owned business. The first products were novelty furniture items for the home (TV stands, record cabinets). High Point Furniture entered the office furniture market in 1963 with the introduction of the first budget-priced 100 Series wood desk. Up to that point, low-cost desks were made primarily of metal while wood desks were significantly more expensive with solid wood components.
Products include wood office, reception and healthcare seating; healthcare recliners and physician stools; ergonomic/task chairs; laminate case goods. The product categories present a wide range of traditional, transitional and contemporary selections. Recent product introductions have primarily been more contemporary in style and focused on collaborative meeting and work space.
